This car was built in Belgium by Application Polyester arme Liege (Apal). Around 150 cars were built between 1961 and 1965 on a modified VW floor pan with a fiberglass body. Only three are known to exist in running condition. Of the 160 cars produced, 120 were designed as road cars and were Volkswagen-powered. This car is a lightweight model (weighing about 1400 lbs) and is powered by a Porsche engine. The transaxle and brakes were designed for road race and hill climb events.This car is equipped with three sets of Marschall driving lights. One set was the very first halogen model offered. The car also has a rooftop beacon fitted for nighttime racing.
