1981 Renault 18i Navigation
The Renault 18 was produced between 1978 and 1994, with production for the European markets coming to a close in 1989. The Model 18 was intended as a replacement for the Renault 12, which had been in production since 1969. Based on the Model 12's underpinnings, the Model 18 went from concept to production in only eighteen months. Deliveries began early in April 1978 and sales in the United Kingdom began just before Christmas. The 1981 Renault 18i was available in the US as either a sedan or a station wagon. Power was from an inline overhead-valve four-cylinder displacing 100.5 cubic-inches and offering 81 horsepower. They had a four-speed manual transmission with disc brakes in the front and drums at the rear.
