Walworth, Wis. – May 2, 2018 – Staged at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis since 2006, Dana Mecum's Original Spring Classic was Mecum Auction's first-ever collector-car auction in 1988 at the Rockford (Illinois) Airport and is today among the world's largest such events. Now in its 31st consecutive year, the Spring Classic auction will take place May 15-20 featuring an estimated 2,000 consignments from 49 states highlighted by nearly 30 private collections—many among the highest caliber of their kind.
Canada's Rob Blair will bring a wide selection of investment-grade American muscle complete with a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Fastback (Lot S123) with the 820-S NASCAR engine and the ultra-rare 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle LS6 Convertible (Lot S124), and Surf City Garage's Tim Miller will offer 20 vehicles—including a selection of his gorgeous GTO Judges and more—all at no reserve. Foreign exotics will cross the auction block as well, represented by vehicles like a one-owner 300-mile 2004 Lamborghini Murcielago (Lot S104.1) and a 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona (Lot S130); and even prewar classics, such as a 1933 Pierce-Arrow Model 836 Sport Coupe (Lot S108.1), will be available among the 2,000-vehicle selection.
