1912 Moon Model 30

The Moon Motor Car Company was founded by carriage maker Joseph W. Moon in 1905 in St. Louis, Missouri. The Series 45 Raceabout was first seen at the National Automobile Show at Madison Square Garden in January 1912. It was bought by a railroad engineer from Long Island, who drove it to work until 1929 when the car was retired and put on blocks. The car has never been dismantled and is in remarkably original condition, having been carefully maintained to preserve its authenticity despite being driven over the years - and driven fast by collector Henry Austin Clark when he owned it in the 1950s. In the early 1960s, it was sold to William Harrah, who was passionate about raceabouts.
