RACE OF CHAMPIONS SELECTS VUHL AS PARTNER FOR WORLD'S BEST DRIVERS AT MOTORSPORT EXTRAVAGANZA IN MIAMI

06 January 2017 - VÚHL, the lightweight supercar maker is proud to partner the Race Of Champions at Marlins Park in Miami on 21-22 January 2017. The partnership will enable the world's best drivers including Jenson Button, Travis Pastrana, Petter Solberg and last year's Champion Of Champions Sebastian Vettel to take on the challenging circuit in the new VÚHL 05 ROC Edition supercar.

The annual Race Of Champions event brings together the world's finest drivers from all the disciplines of competition – on four wheels and two – and sets them free to battle, head-to-head, on the very same track. The VÚHL 05 ROC Edition boasts all of the prerequisites required for the unique Race Of Champions track layout.

The Michelin-shod VÚHL 05 ROC Edition has impeccable acceleration getting it off the start line to 60mph in 3.2 seconds, owed largely to its supremely light weight. The chassis encompasses an ultra lightweight body with a carbon fibre and aluminium combination structure in the monocoque creating a reliable safety cell all weighing just 675kg. The VÚHL 05 ROC Edition is powered by the award-winning two-litre Ford EcoBoost powerplant. This, aligned with the powerfully responsive Alcon brakes and all-new bespoke full-carbon BST wheels, will allow drivers to push the powerful car to the absolute limit of adhesion.

The exclusive carbon fibre wheels are bespoke to the VÚHL 05 ROC Edition provided by Blackstone Tek (BST). Weighing in at 4.5kg for the 17' wheels, designed in Turin by Esiste and TÚV approved, they are the lightest carbon wheel on the market, which are now available on sale.

The VÚHL 05 ROC Edition has been specially modified and tested exhaustively in the run-up to the Race Of Champions to ensure the finest drivers in the world experience all of the car's capability around the challenging tight and twisty circuit. The bespoke rear wing will provide maximum downforce whilst the limited slip-differential will demand respect from the drivers. The car has been put through its paces by the Race Of Champions Official Stunt & Test Driver Terry Grant who has developed the brakes, suspension and quickened the steering rack and ergonomics on the Momo racing steering wheel in all of the VÚHL 05 ROC Edition's that will compete in Marlins Park.

All of the VÚHL cars competing will have a white, orange and black colour scheme and will be adorned with the Race Of Champions livery. Ten Limited Edition Race Of Champions-spec VÚHL 05 ROC Edition's will go on sale shortly after the event in Miami.

Alongside introducing 05 ROC Edition to the world's best drivers, VÚHL are proud to announce the launch of a dedicated website in America - VÚHL 05. ÚS - where prospective customers can access news and information on cars in addition to sales advice.

About VŪHL

VŪHL (the name is pronounced 'vool' and stands for Vehicles of Últra High-performance and Lightweight) is the brainchild of brothers Iker and Guillermo Echeverria, whose Mexican/American design company penned the breath-taking 05 and the 05RR trackday supercars. Their profound passion for all things automotive comes from a hands-on role in the GT and formula racing cars successfully built and campaigned over a 30-year period by their father, Guillermo Echeverria senior.

The 05's handling has been fine-tuned in the ÚK, while further testing and development took place with assistance from Michelin, both in the Ú.S. and Europe. Production started mid 2014, with first deliveries done in 2015. 40% of the 05 sourced from ÚK, carbon bodies and chassis production done in-house and final assembly conducted by the advanced manufacturing concern, Adman Leku in Mexico City.
