Concours Shares Petersen Museum Venue with Historically Significant 'Porsche Effect' Exhibit

WHAT:

Porsche Club of America Los Angeles Region hosts 57th Annual Concours d'Elegance on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Petersen Automotive Museum – featuring a display of more than 80 select Porsche vehicles representative of the past seven decades to be viewed and judged Concours style ranging from a vintage 1956 Porsche Speedster to modern 911 models including a 1989 RUF CTR (owned by Bruce Meyer, founding chairman of the Petersen Museum) and two 2018 GT3 Touring cars. An additional 100 Porsche vehicles will be shown within a special 'Porsche Corral' located on level P4 and available on a first come basis to club members only.

FREE ADMISSION

On-site competition with award categories including – Full Concours, Street, Übergang, Ganz Übergang, Unrestored, Wash & Shine, and Special Categories. Display Division is available to those wanting to showcase their Porsche but not compete. More information about Divisions can be found here.

Two panel discussions on-site to include:

•10:30 a.m.: Porsche Club Worldwide members from Ireland, South Africa and Singapore will share experiences from their Clubs.

•12:30 p.m.: Paulina Michaels of Fast Girls Network will be joined by sports car driver Christina Nielsen, Renée Brinkerhoff of Valkyrie Racing, Le Mans Legend Margie Smith-Hass, Porsche collector and racer Martina Kwan, and Porsche collector and enthusiast Maria Carlos of Garage Goals.

This year's event features a raffle with proceeds benefiting the Petersen Automotive Museum Foundation, supporting educational efforts targeting underserved K-12 children in the Los Angeles community. The Foundation supports programs and activities both inside and outside the museum that benefit more than 15,000 children annually.

WHO: Open to Porsche enthusiasts of all ages including Southern California Porsche Club Members and those from various club regions, celebrities, invited guests and the general public.

While at the Petersen Museum, guests can also choose to attend The Porsche Effect exhibit, a showcase of the most historically significant street and racecars along with artifacts and historical documents. Museum tickets can be purchased on site.
