2018 Holden Commodore Navigation
The 2018 Commodore represents the fifth generation of one of Australia's most popular vehicles. It is the evolution of an icon, offering new state-of-the-art technology, refined and exhilarating performance, and the same practicality that Commodores have been renowned for over the past 40 years.
Built in Rüsselsheim, Germany, the 2018 Commodore is a globally developed vehicle – as is the case for most GM developed products. Holden product planners and engineers have been deeply engrained in the Commodore program from the beginning, ensuring it looks, feels and performs as a next-generation Commodore should do. In fact, the 3.6-litre V6 AWD was only added to the program following Holden input.
Holden engineers have engaged with their European counterparts, attending overseas buy-off rides in addition to undergoing local vehicle testing at Holden's Lang Lang-based proving ground. Commodore features unique ANZ steering tune, unique ANZ suspension hardware and damper tune in addition to locally tuned stability controls. Holden has also engaged the wider Australian team, utilising a fleet of over 30 vehicles to perform everyday testing over the past six months as part of a program known internally as Captured Test Fleet. The result of this work is that Aussies can be confident the new 2018 Commodore will perform exceptionally well in Australian conditions – unsealed roads, tram tracks and dodgy radio reception is all accounted for.
The 2018 Commodore also boasts a long list of firsts for Commodore, including;
◾360-degree camera
◾Adaptive LED Matrix headlights
◾9-speed auto transmission (2.0L petrol and V6)
◾2.0-litre diesel engine – first diesel engine in Commodore
◾Adaptive AWD system – first time available in all bodystyles – new generation
◾Adaptive Cruise Control
◾AEB
◾Handsfree power tailgate
◾Ventilated and heated front massage seat
◾Heated rear seats
◾Wireless phone charging
◾Panoramic sunroof
The new 2018 Commodore (liftback), Sportwagon (wagon) and Tourer (high-ride wagon) is on sale at Holden dealers nationwide from late February 2018.Source - Holden
