2016 Ruf Turbo Florio

For open-air enthusiasts we now offer the Turbo Florio, the perfect symbiosis of turbo engine and safety convertible. Leaving nothing to be desired, it combines the benefits of a civilised RÚF Turbo chassis with a staggering 645 hp power output, along with the heady pleasures of top-down motoring. The roll-over safety bar that separates the convertible top from the fixed rear glass window determines the overall appearance and character of this car. Refined technical details include the air intake ducts above the rear wheelarches that feed fresh air to the intercoolers, while the rear quarters are defined by the discreet fixed rear spoiler and the carbon-fibre diffuser. The Turbo Florio is available either as a rear-drive only or all-wheel drive transmission, with a manual six-speed or seven-speed double clutch gearbox.

Ruf introduced the Turbo Florio at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Its name was from the Targa Florio, a Sicilian road race after which Porsche's targa top cars were also named. The two-seater sports car, based on the Porsche 911 Targa 4 platform, was powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged Flat-6 engine and mated to either a 7-speed PDK or 6-speed manual transmission. Along with the tuned engine, the exterior design was also updated with many aerodynamic and stylistic changes over the standard Porsche 991 targa. In the front was an elongated front splitter and in the back were intake air tunnels on each rear fenders. A duck tail spoiler on the back of the car was used to optimize downforce. At all four corners were 5-spoke Ruf alloy wheels.

Ruf Automobile claimed the car could achieve a top speed of 330 km/h.
