(MAHWAH, N.J.) – January 30, 2019 – Today, Jaguar has announced the addition of a new Checkered Flag Limited Edition model to the 2020 F-TYPE model line-up. This limited edition model celebrates the brand's rich sports car heritage dating back to the reveal of the XK 120 in 1948.




Highlights include a Black Contrast roof on the Coupe and a luxurious Windsor Leather interior featuring Performance seats with embossed headrests, a Dark Brushed Aluminum center console trim finisher and – in recognition of the Jaguar brand's motorsport successes – a steering wheel with a discrete Checkered Flag logo and red leather band to mark the 12 o'clock position.

'In creating the Checkered Flag Limited Edition we've focused on details which enhance the presence of the F-TYPE and promise of performance – and in doing so, made a fitting celebration of 70 years of beautiful, fast, Jaguar sports cars.'



In place of the Delta aluminum center console trim, typically equipped on F-TYPE R-Dynamic models, the Checkered Flag Limited Edition features a Dark Brushed Aluminum finisher. The texture and finish of this material perfectly complements the Ebony Windsor Leather.

The standard Jaguar InControl® Touch Pro™ infotainment system2 features Meridian® audio, a suite of connected services and, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™3 as standard to make it easier than ever to access tailored smartphone apps using the 10-inch touchscreen4.

Power comes from the 296HP 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Ingenium gasoline engine or the 380HP 3.0-liter supercharged V6 gasoline engine. Both offer an outstanding balance of responsiveness and power – and a visceral soundtrack which reflects the truly driver-focused character of the Jaguar F-TYPE – and are matched to eight-speed Quickshift transmissions.

Since its launch in 2012, the Jaguar F-TYPE has established itself as a key competitor in the sport car segment, winning more than 170 global awards. For the 2020 model year, the core F-TYPE model line-up receives a number of updates including simplification of the model range and the introduction of the Checkered Flag Limited Edition model. Two all new exterior paint colors are now on offer – Eiger Grey and Portofino Blue, and the standard equipment list is enhanced by the standardization of popular features such as Smartphone Pack (which contains Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™) and Front Parking Aid5.
