1989 Nissan 240SX

The Nissan 240SX was introduced in 1989 and served as a replacement for the 200SX, remaining in production through 1999. Most were equipped with the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with a single overhead cam. The 1995 Nissan 240SX had a 146 cubic-inch engine offering 155 horsepower and mated to a five-speed manual transmission, with an optional four-speed automatic available. Disc brakes were at all four corners. The 2-door coupe had a base price of $17,500.

The first generation of the Nissan 240SX was produced from 1989 through 1994. Power was initially from a naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine displacing 2.4-liter and producing 140 horsepower. The single overhead cam KA24E engine had three valves per cylinder and was mated to either a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission. A hatchback was offered for the base, SE, and LE trim levels while the coupe was offered in the base, XE, LE, and SE. A convertible was added to the lineup in 1992 exclusively for the North American market.

The 240SX was a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive vehicle resting on a 97.4-inch wheelbase platform with four-wheel disc brakes. No V-6 option was offered. In the back was a multi-link independent suspension.
