1973 Opel Gasser

1973 Opel Gasser 1973 Opel Gasser 1973 Opel Gasser The Kroona & Sandberg 1973 Opel GT was originally campaigned as an AA/GS race car by Phil Featherstone in Southern California. After recording a blistering 8.88-second elapsed time in 1974, Featherstone put the little Opel up for sale, where it was spotted in the National Dragster by Kroona & Sandberg in early 1975. They were already looking to build an Opel for AA/GS competition. This Fiberglass Opel was already a proven winner, so it was a timely purchase.

After an initial purchase attempt failed, the team finally purchased the Opel back in 2009. The race car was in rough shape, but thankfully, the Tom Hanna tin work remained intact, as did most of the chassis and roll cage.

This restored Gasser debuted at the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green, KY, in 2012.
