2019 Apollo Intensa Emozione Navigation
The Apollo Automobil GmbH was created using the bankrupt assets of Gumpert and funding sourced from a Hong Kong businessman. Fourteen years after the Gumpert Apollo had gone into production, the Apollo company introduced an exotic hypercar called the Intensa Emozione, meaning 'intense emotion.' It first shown in a teaser video on October 17th of 2017 and fully revealed on October 24, 2017.The Apollo Intensa Emozione is a mid-engine sports car designed by their Chief Designer, Joe Wong, with design inspiration from nature, airflow, marine animals, and insects. The nature theme continues to the interior, with a cocoon-style carbon-fiber tub cockpit. The carbon-fiber composite monocoque chassis is produced by the Capricorn Group, which also builds the tubs for the Porsche 919. The suspension is comprised of double wishbones with three-way adjustable Bilstein dampers (comfort, sport, and auto). Large Brembo carbon-fiber composite brakes with sizes 380 x 34mm at the front and rear with 6-piston calipers up front and 4-pistons calipers at the rear, provide the stopping power. The engine is a Ferrari F12Berlientta-based V12-unit that was further modified by Autotecnica Motori and HWA AG. The tuned 6.3-liter engine develops 780 horsepower and 760 NM of torque. The V12 is backed by a paddle-shift, six-speed Hewland sequential manual gearbox. The weight is listed as 1,250 kg. Most of the car is made of carbon fiber, with some high-strength steel, titanium, and aluminum components. The engine bay is uncovered, allowing the air intake to fully operate without hindrances.
Following the online teaser videos, the Intensa Emozione made its public debut in 2018 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
