2016 McLaren MSO HS Navigation
McLaren's MSO (McLaren Special Operations) introduced 25 bespoke examples in 2016 based on the 675LT and built to individual customer specifications. Along with unique touches, additional weight-saving measures were implemented, unique aerodynamic features added, and the engine was optimized even further. The M838tL twin-turbocharged DOHC V-8 engine was placed in the engine bay featuring a special clear-gloss finish over the carbon fiber structure. It was given a bespoke coolant header tank and plenum cover. At 679 horsepower, it delivered 13 more horsepower than the 675LT and was backed by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Stopping power was supplied by hydraulic carbon-ceramic disc brakes located at all four corners.

Carbon fiber was used throughout the vehicle including the full-length body skirts, side intakes, and rear wing. New styling cues include the new front bumper and air splitter, dive planes, and roof-mounted air intake scoop. The interior cockpit was finished to individual customer specifications and continued the use of weight-saving carbon fiber components.
