UNITED SPORTS CAR CHAMPIONSHIP – FERRARI ON TRACK IN DETROITDetroit, 30 May – In the shadow of Detroit, three examples of the Ferrari 458 Italia will be aiming for victory in this weekend's Belle Isle race, celebrating the fifth round of the United Sports Car Championship.

The combined efforts of the AIM Autosport and Scuderia Corsa teams have placed Ferrari at the top of the GT-Daytona Manufacturer standing while AIM Motorsport is the top team of the championship after three races.

The no. 555 AIM Autosport Ferrari 458 Italia, driven by Bill Sweedler and Townsend Bell, shares the lead of the GT-Daytona points championship after winning the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona and finishing second at the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring. Equally placed are Andy Lally and John Potter of Magnus Racing. This weekend local dealer Cauley Ferrari, based in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, has partnered with AIM Autosport and will be featured prominantly on the car.

Scuderia Corsa, with drivers Alessandro Balzan and Jeff Westphal, are looking for the same sort of performance that they enjoyed last year in Detroit when they finished in second position in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series race. Westphal and Balzan enter the Detroit weekend after scoring their best result of the season at the previous round at Laguna Seca with a seventh place.

The no. 64 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italia will be on the grid as well in Detroit, with Chris Cumming to join Kyle Marcelli. Marcelli teamed with Stefan Johansson to finish tenth in the previous race at Laguna Seca.

The race will be shown live on Saturday, May 31 at 1:30 PM ET (19:30 CET). Qualifying will be streamed live on IMSA.com, on Friday, May 30 at 5:25 PM ET (23.25 CET).
