by Barrett-Jackson | June 19, 2019UNCASVILLE, CONN. – June 13, 2019 – Barrett-Jackson, The World's Greatest Collector Car Auctions, will auction eight vehicles – all at No Reserve – from the David Maxwell Collection during the 4th Annual Northeast Auction at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, June 26-29, 2019. The Maxwell Collection features a curated selection of classic and custom muscle from the 1960s and 1970s, including a race-ready 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 (Lot #689) and this 1967 Chevrolet Corvette 427/435 Convertible (Lot #676) powered by an original, matching-numbers 427/435hp V8 Tri-Power engine.
David Maxwell is a successful businessman who started his collection with a 1968 Firebird, which is identical to the one he had as a young man. He has a taste for rare and unique muscle cars, including a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro COPO (Lot #675) that will cross the block on Saturday, June 29. One of only 1,015 COPO 9561s delivered to dealerships, this Camaro is powered by a 427ci/425 horsepower engine and comes with a COPO Connection Certificate of Authenticity.
Professionally built Resto-Mods are prominent in the Maxwell Collection, including a one-of-a kind 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Custom Coupe (Lot #693). Featuring a new 6.2-liter LS3 V8 crate engine mated to a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission, this fully loaded street machine also features carbon-fiber throughout and sits on Forgeline racing wheels wrapped in Nitto Invo tires.
'I'm at the time in my life where I still want to see the lines and beauty of the cars I grew up with, but enjoy the comforts and performance of a modern car,' said Maxwell. 'The examples I'm bringing to the Northeast Auction are a perfect balance between modern technology and old-school muscle.'
Another Resto-Mod from the Maxwell Collection that will cross the block is an award-winning 1971 Plymouth 'Cuda Custom Coupe (Lot #685). Standing on staggered Billet Specialties forged aluminum wheels and powered by a Keith Black 426ci HEMI V8 engine, this 'Cuda won the American National Choice award at the Pigeon Forge 2016 Hot Rod Roundup. It also won First Place E-Body All Modified award at Tennessee's 28th Annual Fun in the Sun All Mopar Car Show.
Other Maxwell Collection vehicles crossing the block at Barrett-Jackson's Northeast Auction include:
•1969 Pontiac GTO Custom Coupe (Lot #682) – Full Resto-Mod complete with modern creature comforts, powered by a supercharged LS6 5.7-liter V8 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
•1963 Chevrolet C10 Custom Pickup (Lot #383) – Professionally restored featuring a Chevy 350 crate engine with polished aluminum intake, Hedman headers and finned valve covers.
•1970 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible (Lot #339) – Rotisserie restored in 2017 with 200 miles on the clock since restoration.
