1965 Morgan Plus Four

Only 433 Morgan +4 Dropheads were built from 1950 through 1967 (with a very special V8-powered Drophead built in 1968 for Mrs. Morgan) offering a standard of elegance and luxury not found on any other model of Morgan.

The Morgan Car Company was founded in 1909 and built its first car in 1910 using one of the first forms of independent suspension. This 'sliding pillar' suspension has been used on all Morgans since that time (other than the new 'Aero' model currently being built alongside more traditional Morgans). Since the company's inception, only three basic models of cars have been built....the original 3-wheeler from 1910 to 1952, the four-wheeler from 1936 to the present, and the new high tech 'Aero' introduced in 2003. Certainly a very conservative company!

The company has been in continuous production since 1910 (other than during the two World Wars) and will soon be celebrating its 100th anniversary. And is one of the oldest manufacturers of automobiles still in production.

Like all traditional Morgans, this car was built by a dedicated workforce using a lightweight steel chassis, Belgian Ash wood body frame, and hand-formed sheet metal panels. No two Dropheads are identical as each was specifically built for its new owner.
