Barrett-Jackson Inaugural Northeast Auction Delivers First Double Sellout In Company History

•Inaugural Northeast Auction tickets sold out shortly after gates opened on Thursday; vehicle consignments closed days ahead of the auction sparking the first double sellout in the company's 45-year history

•The three-day auction attracted more than 90,000 auction guests, over 1,700 bidders and captured total sales of over $26 million with a sell-through rate of 96 percent

•Barrett-Jackson helped raise $605,000 for charity, headlined by the sale of the 2016 Shelby GT-H concept/prototype that sold for $150,000 to benefit the Carroll Shelby Foundation

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – June 26, 2016 – Barrett-Jackson, The World's Greatest Collector Car Auctions®, made history with its first double sellout during its Northeast Auction, June 23-25, 2016, at Mohegan Sun. For the first time in the company's 45-year history, tickets sold out within hours after gates opened and the vehicle docket closed well in advance due to strong demand. The auction also shattered attendance records of any event at Mohegan Sun. The overwhelming response led to Barrett-Jackson's most successful inaugural auction, generating total sales of more than $26 million, 552 vehicles sold and a sell-through rate of 96 percent.

The inaugural Northeast Auction attracted over 1,700 bidders and more than 90,000 guests, a Barrett-Jackson record for a three-day event. Accommodating its many fans, Barrett-Jackson offered a limited number of twilight tickets on-site, as well as increased bidder seating.

The top ten car sales during the auction were among a wide range of American muscle, European classics, exotic sports cars and one-of-a-kind customs. These included:

•1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Fastback (Lot #669) – $346,500

•1967 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 (Lot #665.1) – $330,000

•1970 Plymouth HEMI Superbird (Lot #676) – $330,000

•2005 Ford GT Custom Coupe (Lot #643) – $253,000

•1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV (Lot #662) – $236,500

•1966 Ford Mustang Ringbrothers 'Bailout' Fastback (Lot #632) – $225,500

•1968 Shelby GT500 KR Convertible (Lot #668) – $203,500

•1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Custom Convertible (Lot #652) – $192,500

•1967 Chevrolet Corvette 427/435 Roadster (Lot #677) – $187,000

'Our inaugural Northeast Auction was a tremendous success,' said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. 'We had a wonderful venue, an incredible docket of cars, great sponsors and an enthusiastic fan base – all of the things we needed to host a successful auction.'

Six charity cars were sold during the auction raising $605,000 with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting charitable organizations. On Friday, the 2016 Shelby GT-H concept/prototype sold for $150,000 to benefit the Carroll Shelby Foundation. Aaron Shelby, grandson of the late Carroll Shelby and longtime Barrett-Jackson supporter and fan drove the rare vehicle onto the block.

Automobila sales also broke records for the inaugural Northeast Auction. A total of 346 automobilia lots were sold during the three day event with sales totaling $755,000. It proved to be Barrett-Jackson's strongest automobilia sale, outside of a Scottsdale auction.

Mohegan Sun, one of the most spectacular entertainment, gaming, dining and shopping destinations in North America hosted the three-day collector car auction and automotive lifestyle event. The Velocity and Discovery networks broadcast the inaugural Northeast Auction featuring 18 hours of live television coverage. Barrett-Jackson will next light up the Las Vegas strip during its 9th Annual Las Vegas Auction from Oct. 13-15, 2016, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
