Kia Sets New September Record
October 4, 2018 by Kia•16,299 vehicles sold in September •Record breaking month 3.8 per cent increase over 2017 •Year to Date sales hit 78,726 •Kia's September sales up 3.8 per cent in market down 20.5 per cent •Sportage claims seventh place in SMMT top ten best sellers With September sales of 16,299 and year to date sales reaching 78,726 Kia Motors (UK) Limited continue to set new records and out-perform the UK new car market by a margin of 10.3 per cent for year to date. With the launch of the all-new Ceed and new Sportage ahead of September the brand is continuing to attract ever more new car buyers to the marque with the September figures and market share reflecting this. Kia's September sales were up 3.8 per cent compared to the 2017 total of 15,706 with year to date figures up by 2.8 per cent from last year's figure of 76,571. Kia's market share also increased to 4.8 per cent in the month and 4.1 per cent for year to date. Claiming seventh in the SMMT top ten best sellers for September and tenth for year to date, the Kia Sportage remained the most popular vehicle amongst Kia buyers with 6,309 delivered in September and 28,779 year to date. Second place in the Top Five was taken by Picanto with figures of 3,296 and 13,603 respectively. Third in September was the new Stonic with Ceed and new Rio completing the top five. Kia's retail sales year to date totalled 35,081 and fleet sales remain important with overall numbers delivered to business customers so far in 2018 amounting to 43,645.
