Mullin Automotive Museum's 1937 Delahaye Type 145 Chapron Coupe Wins Best In Class At Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance

The Delahaye earned top honors in the 'European Classic Closed' class, while the 1939 Bugatti Type 57C Gangloff Aravis took second in the 'Bugatti Type 57' class
After a very successful career in international Grand Prix racing from 1937 - 1939, then-owner A. M. Duprie sent the Type 145 to legendary coachbuilder Henri Chapron to be re-bodied from an open Grand Prix car to a lithe and unique two-seat coupe.
'We're honored to receive this 'Best in Class' award from the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance,' said Mullin Automotive Museum Founder Peter Mullin. 'Pebble Beach is a flagship event for the entire automotive community and sharing this exquisite vehicle with the public outside of the museum is already a great opportunity.'
Also taking high honors in its class, the 1939 Bugatti Type 57C Aravis took second in the 'Bugatti Type 57' class. The Aravis is a unique example, originally made for the legendary French racing driver Maurice Trintingnant. The car's body by Gangloff and distinctive two-tone paint finish led Jean Bugatti himself to call it 'one of the most beautiful Type 57s.'
