Ferrari returned to Monterey Car Week with many events, activities, and displays throughout the multi-day automotive gathering. There was a rally down the California coast toward the Monterey Peninsula, time at the track at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca with drives down the famed Corkscrew turn, and a display at Casa Ferrari where Ferrari Monza SP1s and SP2s, Ferrari Classiche models, and a showcase of the current range were on display. Casa Ferrari was the coastal location along the first fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links and a short walk to the Concept Car lawn at Pebble Beach and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
The Ferrari Parade leading to the car's placement at Casa Ferrari was a must-see spectacle of Ferrari design, celebrating the company's illustrious past and present. Over 60 examples of the Prancing Horse made their way through Pebble Beach on Saturday, coming to rest at Casa Ferrari where they were one the first displays greeting guests to the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on Sunday. Guests of Casa Ferrari were treated to a world of Italian luxury amid views of the cliff-swept Pebble Beach shoreline.
Modern displays included the 296 GTB, only the second hybrid electric vehicle in Ferrari history. It is equipped with a V6 engine in a lightweight chassis with all the torque, power, and elegance that car enthusiasts around the world recognize as the hallmarks of Ferrari. The limited series Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 are the company's ultra-modern reinterpretation of the classic Barchetta. Over 30 examples were on display representing perhaps the largest gathering ever assembled of these spectacular vehicles. The Ferrari Testa Rossa J is a 75% scale limited series replica of the 1957 250 Testa Rossa. The electrically-powered Testa Rossa J can be personalized, featuring bodywork in hand-beaten aluminum with a choice of 14 liveries designed by the Ferrari Style Centre in Maranello, and a leather interior that fits one adult and a child. A limited run of 299 will be built.
Among the examples on display from the company's past included the 342 America, 212 Inter, 212 Export, 250 GT, 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso, 250 GT Cabriolet, 250 GT California, 250 Testa Rossa, 250 Monza, 250 LM, 275 GTB, 365 GTB4, GTO, F40, and 512 BB LM.
