RM Sotheby's is delighted to return to the German market with an all-new sale in the impressive surroundings of Motorworld. The sale will become an annual fixture in the European auction calendar, expanding RM Sotheby's footprint back into Germany with a high-quality sale in what is unquestionably one of Europe's most important markets for collectable cars. The preview and sale will take place on 25-26 November 2022.
RM Sotheby's continues to expand and develop its roster of live auctions in Europe, concentrating on key markets, partnering with leading events, and hosting sales in spectacular locations. Munich's Motorworld, which describes itself as the city's centre of driving culture, lifestyle, and events, opened its doors to the public after twelve years of development and construction. Under its roof can be found a range of exclusive car brands, automotive service providers and workshops, as well as shops, restaurants, a hotel, and a host of businesses of interest to car lovers. Developed on a site that was the former railway repair shop in Munich-Freimann, the spectacular building is the perfect location for an auction.
An early highlight for the Munich sale is an exotic and extremely rare 2007 Lamborghini Reventon, one of only 20 cars delivered to customers. The Reventon is one of the most extreme cars ever produced by Lamborghini, boasting a 6.5 litre, 12-cylinder engine that propels the car to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 330 km/h. The example offered in Munich is finished in Mid Opaque Grey and is presented in 'as new condition', having covered a mere 102 km.
Marcus Görig, the German market car specialist for RM Sotheby's, says: 'We are delighted to return to the German market with a fantastic sale that will now form part of our annual auction calendar. The location at Motorworld is fantastic, and we will bring approximately 60 cars to market, offering a diverse mix of cars from across the collecting spectrum, which will appeal to a wide international audience.'
