ANDIAL DIVISION OF PORSCHE MOTORSPORT NORTH AMERICA OPENS ITS DOORS TO RACE CAR REVIVALSSanta Ana, California – November 24, 2014 - The first ANDIAL-prepared Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car, owned by Porsche Club of America (PCA) member Klaus Viljanmaa (Wichita, Kansas), has been completed and is now running in PCA events, signaling the start of completion of five specially prepared ANDIAL Edition race cars.

Ever since ANDIAL founders, the late Arnold Wagner, Dieter Inzenhofer and Alwin Springer (the company got its name by combining two letters from each of their names) left Vasek Polak Porsche in 1975 to form their own high performance Porsche tuning shop, the name has been synonymous with success in North American sports car racing.

When the last active owner Dieter Inzenhofer retired in 2013, he made sure the legendary ANDIAL name stayed in the Porsche family when Porsche Motorsports North America, Inc. (PMNA) announced it had purchased the brand for future use. That future use has become PMNA's new name to refurbish and modify Porsche racecars for private customers.

The Viljanmaa 911 GT3 Cup, which started life as a 2011 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge entry, was in good shape when it came to the new ANDIAL shop in Santa Ana earlier this year, but Klaus wanted a refreshed racer to give him all the latest Porsche Motorsport advancements.

The heart of this reconstruction was replacement of the car's 3.8-liter Cup car engine with a 4.0 liter race motor, upgraded with factory GT3 R internal engine parts, replacement of appropriate plumbing connections, and special ANDIAL Gold Emblem intake manifolds, pushing the car from 450 to 515 horsepower.

Chassis enhancements Klaus had done to the car included two-way adjustable Motion Control Suspension dampers, and enhanced brakes with a Bosch ABS M4 kit, while the driveline was upgraded with the installation of the latest transmission for this chassis, the Porsche 997/63 six-speed dogbox sequential gearbox fitted with K-P-M pneumatic paddle shifter system. Add the upgraded Motec C185 color logger display, and the PMNA technicians produced a race car its founders would be proud of.
