Only produced between 1906 and 1908, it is believed only 250 cars were manufactured. The Dragon Automobile Company hired Leo Melanowski, who had apprenticed with the Otto Gas Engine Company in Vienna, to design its automobile. Leo also worked for Panhard-Levassor and Clement-Bayard in France and Waltham in the United States and was a manufacturing foreman for Winton. Dragon also enlisted the services of famed racing driver Joe Tracy as an engineering consultant and test driver.
This Raceabout has been in the ownership of its current family since the 1950s. It is one of two surviving examples of the marque and is the only one remaining constructed with all its original components.
