The base trim level for the 1958 Ford vehicles was the Custom 300 Series. Body styles included a 2- and 4-door sedan and a 2-door business coupe. The base six-cylinder engine was a 223 cubic-inch unit offering 145 horsepower. For customers seeking more, Ford offered the 'Special' trim level which added additional chrome strip that was located just behind the door. The top-of-the-line 'Styletone' trim level added extra exterior striping with a gold anodized insert. Pricing began at just over $2,000 for the 2-door sedan. A total of 340,871 examples of the Custom 300 were built.
