The midsize Chevy Colorado pickup heads into 2010 with greater efficiency, thanks to a new XFE model that achieves the lineup's best fuel economy. Also available is a 5.3L V-8 engine on extended cab and crew cab models that enables a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds (2,721 kg). The 5.3L now features variable valve timing for greater overall performance.
For 2010, head curtain side air bags are now standard on all models and three new exterior colors are offered. Returning for the new model year is brake system that was enhanced in '09 and features four-channel ABS with yaw control for flatter, more controlled stopping during panic stops and improved control on slippery surfaces.
