1970 Porsche 911T

Following the 1969 extension of the wheelbase by 2.4 inches, Porsche continued to make big changes for 1970 including the introduction of the 915 transmission. Ventilation and heating were upgraded, the front and rear quarters were slightly flared, and many interior appointments and details occurred. The lineup included the T, E, and S models in coupe, sunroof coupe, and Targa configurations.

Many of the Porsches built early in 1970 retained features of the 1969 models.

The 1970 Porsche 911T was available as a coupe or Targa with the base price beginning at just over $6,400. The horizontally opposed, overhead cam six-cylinder air-cooled engine displaced 134 cubic-inches and offered 142 (SAE) horsepower. The eight main bearing engine was fitted with two Zenith carburetors and mated to a four-speed manual transmission the rear transaxle. Disc brakes were located at all four corners. A ZF limited-slip differential was optional equipment.

The 911T was the carbureted version while the other 911 models were fitted with a Bosch mechanical fuel injection system.
