The 1954 Chevrolet One-Fifty Special was given minor styling modifications, including a new full-width horizontal center grille bar with wraparound horizontal parking lamps located on both sides. Other additions included new bumper guards, front ornament, hood mascot, and headlight rims. Powerglide was now available, and cars fitted with this feature had Powerglide badges in place of the normal Chevrolet scripts on the deck lid.

The One-Fifty Special was mainly conceived as a fleet model, and so it was popular with state governments, small businesses, police, and of course, the economy-minded consumers. These were utilitarian means of transportation and offered few frills and options. They had limited options, solid colors, stark trim, rubberized flooring, and plain heavy duty upholstery. Mirrors, cigarette lighters, and ashtrays were offered for an additional cost.

Body styles included a 2- and 4-door sedan, a station wagon, and a Utility Sedan. The most popular body style was the 2-door sedan which found 64,885 buyers. Next was the sedan, which had 32,430 sales. Pricing began at $1,540 for the Utility Sedan and rose to just over $2,000 for the Station Wagon.
