1968 Chevrolet El Camino Navigation
The Chevrolet El Camino grew in length for 1968 and was based on the Chevelle station wagon/four door sedan. It shared Chevelle Malibu exterior and interior trim. The interior featured cloth or all-vinyl bench seats. Power front disc brakes and Posi-traction were available as option equipment. A new, high-performance Super Sport SS396 featured the Turbo-Jet 396 offering 325 horsepower (also 350 horsepower depending on carburetion). An L78 V8 engine was also available, producing 375 horsepower. A three-speed manual gearbox was standard while a four-speed or automatic was offered as optional equipment.
