1976 Oldsmobile Toronado Navigation
The 1976 Oldsmobile Toronado was the most expensive vehicle in the Oldsmobile lineup, priced at nearly $7,000. The two-door coupe featured front-wheel drive and a powerful V8 engine rated at 215 horsepower. The 455 cubic-inch engine had been recalibrated in an effort to boost fuel economy. Other new features for 1976 included the semi-automatic leveling system, a revised front-end which included an updated grille, and updated taillights. The Toronado came equipped with a three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission, disc brakes in the front, drums at the rear, vari-ratio power steering, steel-belted radial tires, power windows, message center, front ashtray, glovebox light, digital clock, and driver's door console.In the front, the grille was comprised of two horizontal bars, below 'Toronado' block lettering. It was flanked on either side by quad rectangular headlamps.

Two body styles were available, the Custom Coupe which had a base price of $9,900, and the Brougham Coupe, which listed for $7,140. The Custom Coupe found just 2,555 buyers while the Brougham sold 21,749 examples.
