For 1972, nearly 32,000 examples of the 4- and 7-passenger Vista Cruiser station wagon were built. The mid-size station wagon was in its final year before a new generation of Vista Cruisers were introduced in 1973. This would be the final year for the trademark raised-roof vista greenhouse. They came standard with foam seat cushions, armrests, woodgrain decals, V-8 engine, and carpeting. The interiors were cloth or vinyl. Other standard items included a Deluxe steering wheel, heavy-duty wheels, vista roof treatment, and drop or swing tailgate. A total of 10,573 examples of the 5-passenger wagon were built while the 7-passenger proved to be more popular, with 21,340 built.
