Hudson offered the Model O and Model S for 1928, both being powered by an F-head inline six-cylinder engine displacing 288.5 cubic inches and offering 92 horsepower. The Model O rested on a 127-inch wheelbase, while the Model S measured 118.5 inches. Body styles for the Model S included a Coupe, Sedan, and Roadster.
Several improvements to the model lineup included an Electrolock ignition system which replaced the previous transmission lock. The chassis was strengthened with the addition of two additional tubular cross members. A new steering wheel now housed the spark, throttle, horn, and light controls. The new steering wheel was now made of a hard rubber shell with a solid steel core. The transmission was a three-speed sliding gear setup with Bendix mechanical brakes located at all four corners. The vehicle rode on wooden spoke wheels with detachable rims.
