1947 Chrysler Crown Imperial

The name 'Imperial' was Chrysler's top-of-the-line vehicle for much of its production history, lasting from 1926 through 1954, and then from 1990 to 1993. Chrysler simplified the Imperial line in 1940 with the Saratoga positioned as the top-of-the-line model. The Crown Imperial returned to the top position in 1946 through 1948 and two body styles were produced, an eight-passenger four-door sedan and an eight-passenger four-door limousine. Both had similar prices and overall weights. Approximately 1,400 examples were built from 1946 through 1948 and most were constructed to special order.
