1988 Callaway Corvette B2K

Beginning in 1987, General Motors and Reeves Callaway offered a tuning package at specific Chevrolet dealerships known as RPO B2K. When this option was selected, the cars were sent from Bowling Green, KY to the Callaway factory in Old Lyme, Connecticut, where they received engine modifications and performance upgrades. Callaway and his team would perform an engine breakdown, add numerous internal modifications, and then bolt on their custom turbochargers. While the stock C4s offered 240 horsepower and 340 foot-pounds of torque, the Callaway modifications increased output to 382 horsepower and 562 foot-pounds of torque. For 1988 just 125 Callaway Twin Turbo Corvettes were produced and approximately 500 were converted between 1987 and 1991. The conversion cost an additional $26,995 over the price of a base model Corvette and the modified car was classified as a standard Corvette by the EPA so it was not subject to additional registration requirements.

After its top speed run on October 26th of 1988, it was driven back to Callaway's Old Lyme, Connecticut shops on state highways.
