Mercedes-Benz's seven-year string of victories came to an end in 2021 when Max Verstappen won the 2021 World Drivers' Championship for Red Bull Racing in 2021. The team returned in 2022 with the previous year's RB16B F1 car replaced by the new RB18. The driver lineup included F1 World CHampion Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. There is new sponsorship from Oracle whose branding is visible on the engine cover.The Red Bull RB18 is equipped with a 1.6-liter direct-injected hybrid V6 turbocharged engine, supplied by Honda, but run under the Red Bull name. Unique features of the car's design include an undercut on the sidepods, a narrow inlet, and a front pull-rode suspension with push-rods at the rear. The nose goes all the way to the front, merging with the second wing element.
