1965 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Navigation
The Cadillac Fleetwood 75 was large, luxurious, and exclusive with limousine coachwork or available as a commercial chassis. Both measured 243.8 inches with the commercial chassis having a 156-inch wheelbase compared to the 149.8-inch wheelbase platform of the sedan and limousine. For comparison, the Series 60 Special was 227.5 inches long and all other models were 224 inches in length. The 9-passenger Fleetwood 75 sedan was priced at $9,750 and the limousine at $9,960, nearly twice as high as the Calais and $3,000 higher than the second most expensive 1965 Cadillac model, the Fleetwood Eldorado Convertible ($6,750). All 1965 Cadillacs employed an overhead valve 429 cubic-inch V8 engine with a cast iron block, hydraulic valve lifters, a Carter four-barrel carburetor, five main bearings, 10.5:1 compression, and delivered 340 horsepower at 4,600 RPM. While other Cadillacs used a new perimeter frame, an improved automatic transmission, and automatic level control, the Fleetwood 75 continued to use conventional engineering and construction.
