Mitsubishi Motors gives employees a first-look at the West Coast Customs rebuild of the 1917 Mitsubishi Model A before it makes its official debut later this year
CYPRESS, Calif. – Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) today gave employees at its headquarters in Cypress, California a first-look at the completed Mitsubishi Re-Model A created by West Coast Customs. To celebrate its 100th anniversary, Mitsubishi Motors partnered with the team at West Coast Customs to recreate the brands very first 1917 production vehicle, the Model A.
The Mitsubishi Re-Model A was built on the platform of Mitsubishi's most technologically advanced vehicle, the Outlander PHEV, while keeping the overall aesthetics of the original 1917 vehicle. Additional modern day technologies, included in current lineup of Mitsubishi vehicles, have been integrated into the Mitsubishi Re-Model A to further tie the past and present together. The Mitsubishi Re-Model A has been equipped with Super All-Wheel Control – our advanced 4 wheel drive system, plug-in capabilities, Forward Collision Mitigation and Smartphone Display Audio.
'We couldn't think of a better way to commemorate the past 100 years. The Mitsubishi Re-Model A pays tribute to our past and shines a light on our exciting future,' said Francine Harsini, senior director, marketing at MMNA. 'We're thrilled with the finished product West Coast Customs delivered, and are proud to be able to share it with our employees first.'
The Mitsubishi Re-Model A will make its official television debut on an episode of Inside West Coast Customs, on the Velocity network, in November. The one-of-a-kind vehicle will then make its public debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in the Mitsubishi Motors booth on December 1-10.
Stay tuned for the official air date of Inside West Coast Customs, and more information on the completed Mitsubishi Re-Model A project.
