Black Beast: 855 HP and 1,090 Nm in the MANHART MH3 800 Touring

by MANHART Performance | November 26, 2024
A practical and family-friendly mid-size estate car with the power of a thoroughbred super sports car? This was exactly what the specialists at MANHART Performance in Wuppertal had in mind when designing the project vehicle presented here. The result is the MANHART MH3 800 Touring, which is of course based on the BMW M3 Touring from the G81 series. Although the car is visually quite restrained in muted black, it really has a lot going on under the bonnet.
To cope with the increased power without any problems, the eight-speed automatic transmission has also been given a Stage 2 upgrade, which means it can now manage up to 1,300 Nm. Speaking of Stage 2: MANHART offers even more powerful Stage 2 and Stage 3 performance upgrades on request for all interested parties for whom the power on offer is not yet sufficient. While the factory carbon-ceramic brake system continues to guarantee stable deceleration, MANHART has optimised the suspension of the MH3 800 Touring project vehicle, adding height-adjustable coil springs by H&R and a carbon strut brace for greater rigidity.
While the body of the MH3 800, as mentioned at the beginning, is rather muted in colour with the exception of the decorative elements of the champagne-coloured trim set, the new rims set eye-catching accents: these are also champagne-coloured MANHART alloy wheels by Raffa in the dimensions 10.5x20 inches and 11.5x21 inches. The corresponding tyres measure 285/30ZR20 and 305/25ZR21. Alternatively, other individually configured rim colours are also available on request. Last but not least, the MH3 800 Touring is fitted with a complete kit of MANHART carbon add-on parts. The front is enhanced by new radiator grille kidneys, a front spoiler, a two-piece apron attachment and a bonnet. MANHART customised the side section with attached side louvres on the front wings and sills. At the rear, side skirt attachments and a carbon boot spoiler round off the package.
The interior is complemented by a Sky Roof and floor mats with MANHART lettering.
By the way: The MANHART MH3 800 Touring will be presented live at the upcoming Essen Motor Show. The high-performance estate can be seen at Stand 5A07 in Hall 5 at Bestofwheels.

As usual with MANHART Performance, the number 800 stands for the power output of the optimised estate and is even lower: the three-litre S58 biturbo in-line six-cylinder engine generates 855 HP and 1,090 Nm! To make these enormous gains possible, MANHART carried out various hardware upgrades in addition to ECU remapping. For example, the cylinders are fitted with forged pistons and connecting rods. A MANHART intercooler by Wagner Tuning, a MANHART carbon intake and a MANHART stainless steel exhaust system by REMUS with valve control were also added. The latter is combined with MANHART downpipes including 200-cell catalytic converters. However, these are not TÜV-approved, nor are the sports downpipes equipped with 200-cell HJS catalytic converters or OPF delete replacement pipes or the OPF/GPF deleters.
