Bring A Trailer Marks Most Successful Year To Date Surpassing $1.5 Billion In 2024 Auction SalesPopular auction platform shares trends and highlights from the collector and enthusiast vehicle market observed across approximately 45,000 auctions

Automotive auction platform and enthusiast community Bring a Trailer (BaT) celebrated a milestone year in 2024. BaT set a new high-water mark with $1.5 billion in sales, marking the third consecutive year the platform surpassed $1 billion in annual sales. The site also saw its highest volume of listings, with nearly 45,000 auctions split between cars, trucks, motorcycles, memorabilia and parts.

'BaT continued evolving as a business in 2024 – both as an organization and as a leader in the market,' said Randy Nonnenberg, co-founder and president of Bring a Trailer. 'This marked another banner year as we continued to grow while maintaining our overarching goals of bringing transparent auctions to enthusiasts and giving our community the opportunity to interact with special cars, their owners and subject matter experts.'

The year saw BaT averaging well over 800 auction listings per week, with highs of over 1,000 on multiple occasions. The BaT community also continued to grow, gaining 219,000 new registered users and bidders for a total of 1.36 million.

This growth has been supported by increased staffing and improved internal systems, enabling auctions to go live more quickly.

'In 2021 and 2022, it could take over a month to get your car on BaT,' said Nonnenberg. 'Now, a well-prepared seller can have their car online in just a few days in many cases. It's a rapid process to get your car on BaT in 2025.'

The Driver's Era

As more millennial and Gen Z buyers enter the market, the trend toward more recent classics grew in 2024, with vehicles from the 2000s leading the auction listings for the second consecutive year. In order of volume, the most listed model years on BaT in 2024 were 2006, 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2005.

'We're seeing an increased interest in cars that mark the end of the analog era,' said Nonnenberg. 'Not only are some of these cars generational hallmarks for those born in the late 1980s and early 1990s, but their tactile nature and relative simplicity offer buyers a more driver-focused experience.'

International Appeal

Earlier this month, Bring a Trailer announced its plans to expand its European presence with established U.S. partners alongside a new network of trusted European partners. BaT is now looking to provide increased convenience and transparency to international car enthusiasts and continues to seek new Local Partners in the European and UK markets to continue that growth in 2025.

About Bring a Trailer

Bring a Trailer (BaT) is a digital auction platform and enthusiast community founded in 2007 to connect buyers and sellers of classic, collector, and enthusiast vehicles. BaT curates vehicles submitted by sellers and helps them craft transparent auction listings that present the vehicles as they are — without superlatives or dubious used-car-lot language. At the end of a successful auction, BaT connects the seller and buyer so they can work together to complete the transaction. BaT's knowledgeable community of more than 1,100,000 registered users vets each listing so potential buyers can bid with confidence. BaT auctions are listed at a flat rate, starting at just $99 with a sell-through rate of 77%. Bring a Trailer Shipping is the company's fully integrated vehicle transport service, available for both BaT auction listings and private vehicles in the contiguous 48 U.S. states.
