1940 Nash Ambassador Six-Series 4020

Nash Motors was founded in 1916 by Charles W. Nash. The Nash claim to fame was supplying mid-priced cars for the middle class. 'Give the customer more than he has paid for' was their slogan, with synchromesh transmissions, adjustable suspension, and a modern flow-through ventilation system would prove this as a successful campaign. In 1954, Nash merged with Hudson Motor Car Company forming American Motors Corporation.

Designed by George Walker, the Nash Ambassador, a high trim trim option on senior models, was a model of vehicles from 1932 until 1957. As a four door, five passenger sedan the Ambassador was the most expensive model. It included a streamlined body which Nash called 'Airflyte,' but others called 'upside-down bathtub.'
