1964 Volvo PV544 Navigation
The Volvo PV544 was produced from 1958 through 1965, with a few remaining examples sold in 1966. The PV544 was similar, in many respects, to the PV444, with subtle differences such as a curved one-piece windshield that replaced the two panes of flat glass. There were also larger taillights and a ribbon-type speedometer. The three-speed manual gearbox found in the 444 was replaced with a four-speed unit in the 544.In the front were large block letters stating 'VOLVO'. '544' numerals could be found on the hood, above the fenders. Powering the car was an overhead-valve four-cylinder B18D engine that displaced 108.5 cubic inches and produced 90 horsepower. There were drum brakes in both the front and rear and an hourglass worm and sector steering. For 1964, Volvo exported 17,326 vehicles to the United States.
