2019 Volvo XC90

2019 Volvo XC90
The XC90 is Volvo's large, seven-seat SÚV and the company's flagship. It was the first car to be launched on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), Volvo's advanced modular product platform that underpins all Volvo cars in the 90 and 60 Series.2019 Volvo XC90
Like its siblings S90 and V90, the XC90 carries the proud and confident face of Volvo's design language, along with classic Volvo styling cues. Key features include the iconic 'Thor's Hammer' LED headlight design, the new grille and Volvo Iron Mark, and the expressive use of the Volvo word mark on the rear.

In the cabin, the XC90 provides a calm and balanced environment with a blend of high-end materials such as wood, crystal and metal in a sophisticated Scandinavian design. Just like the S90, the XC90 is also available as an ultra-luxurious Excellence version.

Connectivity and infotainment

All new Volvos are now connected, thanks to Volvo's connectivity and infotainment system called Sensus. It delivers an intuitive touch screen interface that combines car functions, navigation, connected services and in-car entertainment applications such as Spotify, Pandora, Baidu or TuneIn. The portrait-oriented touch screen enables easy and fast access to a host of functions and features. Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also available.

Powertrain technology
The XC90 is powered by Volvo's Drive-E powertrains, including petrol, diesel and Volvo's T8 Twin Engine, a petrol plug-in hybrid mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. (posted on

2019 Volvo XC90
Volvo's T8 Twin Engine delivers all the benefits of a high performance, low emission petrol engine with an electric motor that delivers power on demand with ultralow CO2 emissions, more than 40 km of pure electric range and a combined power output of around 410 hp. This makes the XC90 T8 Twin Engine one of the most efficient and powerful 7-seater premium SÚVs on the market.

Safety and driver assistance
Volvo's leadership in the field of automotive safety is confirmed in the XC90. The SPA platform has resulted in the strongest Volvo cars to date because of extensive use of boron steel, as well as numerous safety systems designed to protect people inside and outside the car.

Volvo's City Safety technology, standard on all Volvo models, combines automatic braking functionality and collision avoidance systems to cover a range of potential accident scenarios and help keep you safe. City Safety is the only system on the market that detects pedestrians, cyclists and large animals such as moose and deer.

The Pilot Assist driver assistance system works up to 130 km/h on clearly marked roads and is another step towards Volvo's Vision 2020, which states that no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo by 2020.

2019 Volvo XC90
Impressively large, without being boastful, the XC90 is relaxed and confidence at the same time. Inside you'll be greeted by a classic example of clean, modern, Scandinavian design, handcrafted from the finest materials. Nappa leather and flame birch wood sit alongside jewel-like controls. Another attractive feature of the XC90 3.OT, BMW X5 or the Mercedes GLE350. And now, the T5 is equipped with seven seats, standard. Providing more space to sit and think and connect to the world on your terms.2019 Volvo XC90
From the company that gives you more safety features than any other brand, the XC90 is infused with smart, intuitive innovations. Standard City Safety auto-braking technology helps protect you and those around you. If a collision is imminent ahead, it will brake automatically, reducing impact – or preventing it altogether when you're driving at speeds of 31 mph or less.

2019 Volvo XC90
Honored as one of the safest cars on the road, the XC90 is just one of the five Volvo vehicles that have been named a 2017 Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+.

2019 Volvo XC90
BLIS™ supports when you have to change lanes in busy traffic. It alerts when a vehicle enters your blind spot or approaches fast from behind. If needed, the Steer Assist function will gently steer you back into the your lane. The rear-mounted radar sensors continuously monitor your blind spots and a large area behind your car, day or night, and reacts to almost any type of vehicle, including motorcycles.

360˚ Surround View Camera
As part of the Advanced Package, our 360° Surround View Camera shows you a high-resolution bird's eye view of the area surrounding your Volvo – a great help when you reverse or maneuver in confined areas with impaired visibility. The system uses four cameras: two at the door mirrors, one at the front and one at the rear. By touching one of the camera images on the 9-inch Sensus Touchscreen, you can get a view from that specific camera. The rear camera can also be switched to a zoomed-in view close to the car, particularly convenient when you're hitched to a trailer.

Pilot Assist
Standard Pilot Assist extends semi-autonomous driving to include low-speed traffic jams as well as general highway driving. When semi-autonomous Pilot Assist is activated, acceleration, braking and steering assistance help you follow the traffic flow within your lane to increase safety. It's especially useful on long highway trips where the road markings are clearly visible. You can activate Pilot Assist by using the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel. Just select your desired speed and time gap. If your hand is not on the steering wheel, Pilot Assist automatically switches off. It is important to note that the driver is always responsible for how the car is controlled as well as for maintaining the correct distance and speed, even when Pilot Assist is being used. Semi-autonomous systems like Pilot Assist are restricted in how much acceleration, braking and steering force they can apply.

Sensus Navigation
Available Sensus Navigation provides intuitive guidance and connects seamlessly with our cloud-based services and navigation apps. It's conveniently operated using voice or steering wheel controls. Road directions are shown on your large touchscreen. You operate the system without taking your attention from traffic – the voice control carries out your commands. You have access to in-car apps that can help you find and pay for parking, share your location with friends or simply find the best coffee in town. To help you avoid traffic, Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI) gives you a clear view of alternate routes. Free map updates ensure easier journeys. Adding the Volvo On Call app, you can send destinations from your smartphone to your car. It also allows you to sync meeting destinations from your personal calendar with the navigation system.

Sensus Connect
Sensus Connect puts you in touch with the digital world and your Volvo – intuitively. Smart driver interfaces like the steering wheel buttons and voice control give you full command – without taking your attention away from the road. The 9-inch Sensus Touchscreen is your infotainment hub, providing access to a host of convenient in-car apps for your entertainment, navigation, control, connectivity and service.
