2001 Suzuki EV Sport news, pictures, and information

The EV-sport, a 'new-generation' open 2-seat sporty car, is Suzuki's suggestion for how an EV (electric vehicle) with no emissions or noise can be both 'gentle to earth' and 'fun for the driver.' The EV-sport design presents exciting acceleration with its motor's power characteristics, light chassis weight using aluminum space frame, and high cornering performance realized by placing the batteries under the floor to keep the center of gravity low. For an extra peace of mind, the EV-sport also comes with an emergency gasoline engine to make sure it can be driven to a recharging station in the event the battery power is gone. The EV-sport's motor is the EV power unit currently being developed by General Motors Corporation -- our corporate partner.
