Chassis #: FW22-02
BMW's exciting re-entry to Formula 1 competition during a period of brilliant sights and sounds for fans. The period featured powerful, sonically-delightful, normally aspirated 3.0-liter V10 engines and extremely high rev limits thanks to exotic valve-trains powered by pressurized nitrogen. This car, FW22-02, was constructed by legendary team Williams in partnership with BMW Motorsport, and represents BMW's first year back in Formula 1 since the mid-1980s. This car raced in its current number 9 livery during the 2000 season and was piloted by Ralf Schumacher to a 5th place finish in that year's Championship with three podium finishes. Schumacher's teammate was Jensen Button who drove the No. 10 FW22. The BMW Williams F1 Team finished the 2000 season 3rd in team points.
