Five Volvo Cars Win Car And Driver Editors' Choice AwardsROCKLEIGH, NJ – Five Volvo cars, including all of the luxury carmaker's SUVs and two of its wagons, earned Car and Driver Editors' Choice awards for 2019.

After testing almost 500 cars editors chose the XC90, XC60, and XC40 SUVs and V90 and V90 Cross Country wagons to recommend to family and friends.

'For the experts at a place as trusted as Car and Driver to give five Volvo cars their Editor's Choice award is a very big deal,' said Anders Gustafsson, Senior Vice President Americas and President and CEO Volvo Car USA. 'Now anyone considering a new luxury car should absolutely look at a Volvo.'

The XC40 was recognized for its huge back seat and cargo area, beautiful interior execution, and for being chock full of tech.

Editors praised the XC60 for being fuel efficient, its Swedish design, and cutting-edge driver-assist tech.

And they gushed over the eminently handsome design of the XC90, its satisfying drive, and lots of safety tech.

Of the V90, Car and Driver editors lauded its gorgeous cabin, mammoth cargo capacity, and dazzling exterior styling.

They praised its close cousin, the V90 Cross Country, for its upscale design, lovely and spacious cabin, and for being more practical than an SUV.

Car and Driver created the Editors' Choice awards to honor the many excellent vehicles—beyond those in the 10Best pantheon—they would recommend to family and friends. For Editors' Choice a vehicle's inherent value, how well it fulfills its intended mission relative to its segment competitors, and how engaging it is from behind the wheel are taken into consideration.
